The Role of Big Data in the Fitness industry & the use in online classes:
Today’s blog will take you through the Role of Big Data has in
the Fitness industry & the use in online classes. Those who run online classes
or attend online classes may find this useful.
Big data has been a powerful force of change in the fitness
industry. More fitness companies are using data analytics, AI and other
technology to better understand their customers, improve their operating
margins and make other changes to adapt to new trends.
Things to look out for
Find the Right Management Software - First things first, you
need to find the proper fitness management tools for gyms and fitness centers. You
need to consider what data you are looking to analyze.
Optimize Classes Based on Attendance - The last thing that
you want is to host classes with poor attendance. Instead, use data from class
bookings to determine what classes are popular and when people are most likely
to attend them. Then you can organize more of the classes people like &
adjust the time of the classes to suit the attendees. You can also use
information such as demographics to determine if you should make any changes to
your classes. You can cater the classes to the age & gender of the group identified
through your data generation.
Actively and Passively Collect Data - passively collecting
data will be quite straightforward with the right software management tool. You
will be able to keep track of when a particular member will attend gyms or
classes, & how long their sessions last. You can also generate this data actively
though questionnaires & online surveys to help improve their experience
Hope you find this helpful.

This is so interesting. I’ve recently become much more interested in my fitness levels, like a lot of people since the start of the pandemic, I have worked hard to improve my overall health. Its good to know that going online has created an environment where classes are monitored more closely by providers and only the higher performing classes in terms or interest and popularity is improving on the accessibility of fitness classes.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, a really great article the role Big Data has in the Fitness industry along with its use in online classes. Although i do not use online classes myself ( i prefer to be in an actual workout facility or environment), I know many people swear by online classes and they love the availability and accessibility of them. This is especially true for people with hectic lifestyles who cannot always adhere to the traditional gym opening hours and class times. You have provided some great tips on how big data can help providers improve their service for consumers, and i'm sure these simple tips will help a lot of people out there! Orna
