Google Analytics - Digital Wellness For Small Business
Over the past 18 months or so, social interactions, events,
the workplace and education space have all, for the most part, moved from out
in the world to inside our homes. Whilst this has been a huge sacrifice in
different ways, in the workplace, many organisations have increased their efforts
to look after the wellbeing of their employees. As a result, it has provided an
opportunity for entrepreneurs and small businesses to reach target audiences
through virtual channels in a more meaningful way. In the digital space, data
on audience behaviour can be collected and analysed, allowing business owners
to respond quickly and effectively. For example, wellbeing in has been promoted
online through sessions including yoga, pilates, tai chi and meditation. From
these sessions, some participants have continued to utilise online resources to
maintain and improve their wellbeing. In order for providers of these services,
many of whom are sole traders or small business owners, it is necessary to
understand who their customer is, where they are and what they want. Whilst
this can be difficult to track in real life interactions which are based on the
feedback the customer provides, online data can track behaviour in much more
detail.
Google analytics provides a (usually) free and easy to use cloud-based
software that can help not only track user behaviour, but can also be used to
set targets and goals and monitor how well your website, blog or marketing
campaign is doing. Whilst direct customer feedback is still vitally important, using
Google Analytics can indicate clearly where your online traffic is coming from.
This allows you to track consumers in real time and adjust your marketing
strategy. For example, you could find that 100 users are visiting your website through
an ad placed on Facebook versus 1,000 users via a Google ad. This quickly allows
you to redirect your advertising budget to higher performing ads. This is a
very simple example of a complex tool that can transform the success of any
small business. To learn more about Google Analytics and set up an account, follow
