Google Analytics
This was our first go at using Google Analytics.
Google Analytics is used to Track and trace whats happening with your website. Where is your site being seen and who is accessing it and how. What Devices are they using to access it and the time they spend on it.
You can see from all this data what and how well your site is working or not working, Are Visitors just coming on and leaving or are they staying and looking around and at the end either purchasing a service or goods from the site if thats what your goal is.
Having all this information to hand and how to use it can only help the quality of your site. Make it easier for people to find it and keep them on it longer. Constantly Improving it.
Compare it to been able to coax shoppers into your shop on the high street and being able to follow them around to see how they behave and why they did or didnt purchase something. Really Powerful!!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for providing this brief and concise information on Google Analytics. It gave me a great introduction to what Google Analytics is and how it works. It also explained to me why collecting this data might benefit me and how powerful it can be if used correctly. I now have a better understanding of Google Analytics as a whole.
Thanks,
Orna
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI found this blog very informative, and great for someone like me who is new to google analytics. I will definitely be recommending to my friends who are small business owners .
Thanks,
Rachel
Great to know that Google Analytics can be used to find out what devices are being used to view a website – obviously it is important to centre design around accessibility for all types of devices but if the majority of traffic is coming through smart phone use, this can inform the best types of ads to choose for a marketing campaign. I like your comparison to shoppers in stores and being able to follow them around to understand their behaviour, Google Analytics can help with this without the need to follow shoppers around which would probably make them feel a little uncomfortable. With Google Analytics all this can be done with a little bit of knowledge and a few clicks of the mouse!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Michelle
